The opening of the third exhibition in Retroavangarda Gallery in Jerozolimskie Business Park took place on September 20th 2018. The event was graced with the presence of many prominent guests, including: Chasper Sarott – Minister and Deputy Head of Mission of Embassy of Switzerland; Heinrich Carstens – director of POSITIONS Berlin Art Fair, Paper Positions Berlin in Munich and Basel; Sonata Baliuckaitė – Art Director of Art Vilnius; the vice-rectors of Warsaw School of Information Technology and Management – Barbara Mażbic-Kulma and Jarosław Sikorski. There was also one very special guest who came to the opening as far as from Brazil – Marcos Minini, one of the artists taking part in the exhibition.
The exhibition is a part of Warsaw by Art 2018 festival. Warsaw by Art is a cyclical cultural event that takes place in the capital of Poland. It came to life thanks to the initiative of the owners and curators of renowned Warsaw art galleries. Our common goal is broadly understood promotion of contemporary art and enhancing the image of Warsaw as a culturally rich city, as well as strengthening its position as a competitor in Europe.
The exhibition in Jerozolimskie Business Park features artworks from two collections: Korekta Gallery, owned by Dariusz Mlącki, and Retroavangarda Gallery, owned by Anna Kłos. The pieces are mostly original traditional graphics and paintings of valued polish artists, whose names can be found in art history textbooks, such as Berlewi, Brzozowski, Lebenstein, Pągowska or Tarasin.
Apart from those famous and already deceased artists, Retroavangarda Gallery presents pieces by contemporary creators. Most of them honoured us with their presence during the opening – guests had the unique chance of talking with them.
The exhibition is open until 31.10.2018
