Yuri Gulitov was born on June 9, 1964 in Sevastopol. He studied at the Kharkov’s Art and Industrial Institute, Graphic Design department.
Yuri Gulitov is the chief of the Poster Lab and senior lecturer at the HSE Art and Design School. The founder and the chief of Gulitovdesign studio.
He lives in Moscow and works in the field of poster and as a graphic designer. He has given lectures and master classes in Aix-en-Provence, Dnepropetrovsk, Chelyabinsk, Echirolles, Kharkov, Kotor, Krasnoyarsk, Mexico City, Minsk, Moscow, Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhniy Novgorod, Norilsk, Prague, Puebla, Sevastopol, St. Petersburg, Tolyatty, Vilnius, Vladivostok. He has had personal and group exhibitions in Moscow, Kharkov, Sevastopol, Echirolles, Vilnius, Tehran, Poznan, Puebla, Mexico City, Druskininkai, Paris, Debrecen.
Gulitov is a member of the Russian Union of Artists and Russian Union of Designers. His works are kept in Sevastopol’s Museum of Fine Arts, the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Museum of Design in Zürich, the Museum of Posters in Arhuce, the National Museum in Poznan, the Graphic Art center in Echirolles, Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg and in private collections.
Аmong his professional awards: Grand Prix in Logotypes (1996), Golden Bee Award in Type-Design (1996), in Posters (2000, 2004, 2014) and in Calligraphy (2006) at the Golden Bee Biennale of Graphic Design; Encouraging Diploma at the Colorado Poster Exhibition (2009); Icograda Excellence Award at the International Triennial ZGRAF11, (2012); Visitor’s Award at the 27th International Biennial of Graphic Design Brno (2016); Gold Award at the International Exhibition of Modern Designs on Ink Painting (Beijing, 2016); Nomination at the Triennial of Stage Poster Sofia, (2019), etc.
