Pepo Almonte was born in Durango, Mexico. He graduated in graphic design at the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes. He holds a postgraduate degree in Sciences and Arts for Design from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana where he obtained the Medal for Academic Merit. City of Durango and teaches different postgraduate modules, is an independent researcher on topics of the Media Ecology about which he has given conferences and workshops in various cities of Mexico. Also coordinates the poster Monday of the blog Poster Poster.
As a designer he has more than twenty-five years of practice; His experience ranges from various media to the design of newspapers, through art director and advertising in several companies, Their posters have been exhibited in Seoul, Tehran, Mogadishu, Kutlaya in Turkey, Delhi, Caracas, Kiev, Moscow, Quito and Milan; In Mexico in the CDMX, Guanajuato, Aguascalientes, Puebla, Guadalajara, Ensenada and Durango.
He is the creator of I LOVE DESIGN DGO, a group that in social networks brings together more than 8,000 participants from almost thirty countries and organizes the monumental projection of posters to celebrate World Design Day.
In 2014 his poster work was included along with several design legends in the Richter 83 collection, which presents designers from around the world considered by the Adfesta group of Iran as a sample of the work that is changing to Graphic Design.
