Mykola Kovalenko – Ukrainian graphic designer. He graduated from the Kiev State Institute of Decorative and Applied Art and Design M. Boychuk. Since 1998, works as a designer and art director. Mykola is a multiply prizewinner and winner of international and local design festivals and competitions.
He has more than one hundred awards which include: Red Dot Award: Communication Design (Germany), European Design Awards (Greece), HOW Poster Design Competition & Awards (USA), Mut zur Wut (Germany), BICeBé / Biennial of Poster (Bolivia), WOLDA (Italy), GRAPHIS (USA), ADI Design Award (China), LOGOLOUNGE (USA), GOLDEN DRUM (Slovenia), TOYAMA (Japan), GOOD 50X70 (Italy), IPBM (Mexico), INTERNATIONAL POSTER BIENNALE (Poland), Ukrainian Design: The Very Best Of (Ukraine), GOLDEN BEE (Russia), 4th BLOCK (Ukraine) and others.
Also he is invited regularly as a jury member at international festivals, among them such as: ADC*E Awards (Spain), ADC*UA Awards (Ukraine), KAKADU Awards (Ukraine), White Square (Byelorussia), Kiev International Advertising Festival (Ukraine), Biennale trademarks and logos TaMga (Russia), Ukrainian Student Poster Biennale (Ukraine), International Triennial of ecological poster «4th Block» (Ukraine) and others.
Mykola is a member of the Union of Designers of Ukraine, member of Ukrainian Art Direct Club, a member of the Association of graphic designers «4th Block». His works has repeatedly been published in design magazines and catalogs. He actively participates in social projects, expressing his position in pure minimalist posters. He lectures and conducts master classes in design.
Mykola is a founder of the design studio DNK and project DNK shop. Recently he lives and works in Bratislava, Slovakia.
