Louis Fishauf is one of Canada’s foremost graphic designers. He began his career as an editorial designer and art director, working at a succession of Canadian publications. His editorial design work won numerous awards including five Gold National Magazine Awards for art direction and cover design.
In 1982, he co-founded REACTOR ART+DESIGN, a design and illustration studio, where he was Creative Director for 12 years, producing innovative branding and marketing for clients like Roots Canada, Bata, Club Monaco, Molson Breweries and Softkey Software.
Since 1994, FISHAUF DESIGN has provided art direction, design and strategic consultation to a variety of clients including Adobe Systems, Canada Post, Adbeast Inc, Sympatico, Toronto Life and Alias Systems.
In 1991, Louis received the ADCC’s Les Usherwood Award for “a lifetime of excellence in the field of communication arts”. In 1997 he was invited by Apple Computer to become one of the first 40 AppleMasters, an “international group of recognized visionaries from various fields”.
Louis has served on the Board of Directors of the Art Directors Club of Toronto and the Worldwide Publishing Consortium, and sat on the Advisory Board of MediaLinx h@bitat at the Canadian Film Centre. Since 2005, he has been a sessional instructor at OCAD University.
