Karina Suárez


She was born in Buenos Aires, in 1968. Karina is a photographer, in the last few years she has been working in this area for cinema and advertising.

Between 1995 and 1998, she was a part of the Adriana Lestido’s photo essay workshop. In 2001 she participated in the workshop of Patricia Mendoza (Director of the Image Center of Mexico), at the EAF in Buenos Aires. 

She had a number of her exhibitions in Buenos Aires. In 2001, her “Self-portraits” were shown at the National Photography Gallery of the San Martin Cultural Center, as well as on several other exhibitions - in 1999 at the Photography Projection in Yatay Barn, and on May 2005 at the retrospective exhibition “20 years of Cultural Center San Martin’s Photo Gallery”.

Since 2015, she has been attending the Carolina Chocron workshop in search of a new language for her photography. There, she works in an analogic way using different methods: polaroids, black and white film copies, pictures found in different places and also with traditional publications.

She has been a part of three exhibitions: “Cutted” (2016),“Cutted Again” (2017), at the Bardo Cultural Center and “Chasco” at  La Casona de los Olivera, within the framework of the Buenos Aires  Museum’s Night.
