Frank Elbert Whipple, III is a largely self-taught collage artist working in Los Angeles, California, where he lives with his lovely wife Gisele and their family of cats. He is a long time dealer in antiquarian and collectible books and other vintage items including a wide range of paper ephemera which he still dabbles in selling over the internet and with clients through auctions and private sales.
He was born in Hollywood and comes from a family of artists and musicians, including his father, Frank Whipple, Jr., who was a very successful painter, recently passed away, and his mother, Amy Albani, an esteemed opera singer and writer. His sister, Laura Whipple is also an artist who paints and sculpts as well.
Whipple, III has had his work included in numerous shows around Southern California including Louis Stern Fine Arts, The Zipper Gallery, Gallery C in Studio City, Gallery 825, The Space Gallery in Claremont, and most recently in the current group collage exhibition at The Sebastopol Center for The Arts in Northern California. He also exhibited at Nisa Touchon Fine Arts Gallery in Santa Fe, New Mexico, in a group show with the artists Sherry Parker and Hope Kroll in 2015.
