Hip Hop and Mansourcing:
I was born in Palermo in 1976, after a time spent in Hip Hop culture from 1994 to 2000, I was fascinated by art and especially by painting. In 2012 I founded ManSourcing, the association that started my artistic project: The promotion of art in all its possible variations. Thus began a path full of collaborations with numerous artists of the national and international scene, which I have involved in exhibitions, street art projects and festivals.
In 2016 I revolutionized my idea of making art. Always fascinated by the collage technique, I started to cut, paste, assemble images and suggestions. Stopping my dreams and thoughts on paper on an intimate journey between consciousness and instinct.
My collages are born this way. From the desire to express myself through images evocative of a historical period now far away but full of poetry and nostalgia. Scraps of magazines published between the '20s and the' 50s, which I try with an archaeologist's look.
The scenes that I represent in my works recall the years of war but also those of rebirth. The figure always in the center. Faces dense with suffering but also with an extreme desire to live and redeem. Men, women, children, each of them carries a message, flows in time until we reach our present contradiction.
And finally a sentence on the eyes to close the meaning, to launch a provocation, to propose a reflection. Eyes that speak. My signature.
So I define my work. A collage too. The assemblage of epochs, in a historical period in which digital is always faster and frenzy devours, the analogical becomes for me a need to stop me, in my spare time.
