In the late 1990s, Carrie Meijer started making expressive abstract acrylic paintings and gouaches. Later her work became stricter. By using parallel and horizontal lines intersected by vertical lines, geometric and rhythmic pen drawings were created. Around 2006 she made her first lithographs and linocuts.
In recent years she developed an interest in new printing techniques. Digital prints are the result of this. One of these prints was nominated for the “Ilse Boon Grafiekprijs” in 2012.
She also makes photos and artist’s books.
Carrie Meijer lives and works in Amsterdam NL and regularly exhibits in various places in the Netherlands and Denmark. She is also a welcome exhibitor at the annual “Deutsch – Niederländische Grafikbörse” in Borken DE.
Her work is included in the Wilploo collection in Enschede NL and that of the Aldegrever-Gesellschaft e.V. in Münster DE.
