Collages by Anna Kłos – ‘Ineinander’ („one in another”) is the newest collage series presented in Korekta Gallery. The title deeply touches the idea of collage art and at the same time is a personal artistic idea of Anna Kłos . Juxtaposing various materials, sometimes from different epoques and styles, mixing texts with imagery, conjuring  associations through putting together universally known symbols, colors and typography, old papers with their specific beautiful look combined with deep black, introducing red as a dominant that compliments the monochromatic composition – all these features attract the eye and pull the viewer into the semantic game on the memory field. The carriers of this meaning are elements that bring to mind stories from the past but in a modern form. The artist puts elements together not only to achieve harmony and formally good composition but also to reach deeper emotions invoked by either obvious or surprising associations.  The strategy, or rather artistic concept, is fulfilled by the choice of noble materials  of amazingly refined coloring. The whole series is coherent both formally and ideologically. In each piece there is a record of visual game that ends with a message personalized for each individual viewer.  Art is an epression of freedom, it doesn’t close on anyone, it doesn’t force to interpret, it allows perception to freely collect pieces of symbols  and meanings and to remake them into one’s own, personal internal image. Her art is a continuation of the achievements of great masters of collage, Kurt Schwitters and dadaists. The  concept of Anna Kłos’ art as well as the webpage run by her , oxymoronically named Retroavangarda Gallery, both have the  seeking character, which opens new paths and at the same time is very respectful towards art of the 20th Century , especially towards the avant-garde. Referring to the achievements of modern art is an homage  and an inspiration for creating the new avant-garde, or maybe even a new artistic quality of yet unnamed formula.
